I was born in Poland and lived there until 1983. In my younger years I have developed great enthusiasm for exact sciences - mathematics and physics - which by virtue of their absolute standards of truth, I hoped, would put me at arm's length from the mendacity of the Soviet-imposed political system. In 1983 I came to the USA to further study physics achieving a doctorate in 1989 at Indiana University in Bloomington. My wife joined me in the US in 1985 and our daughter was born in Indiana in 1987. I worked as a scientist and academic until 1994 when I became a software engineer in Seattle. My family has been dissolved in 2007 on amicable terms.
My interests in performance arts started at a rather young age with school drama, piano lessons, interests in experimental theater while I was still a student of physics in Poland. America seems to have stifled my sense of beauty for a long stretch of years. I attribute this to the predominance of the utilitarian landscape and probably lack of contact with truly sensitive, though ordinary, people.
In 1997, settled in Seattle area, I made a trip to Italy - really first trip to Western Europe since my youthful adventure hitch-hiking through Europe in 1980. At that time my sense of beauty has reawakened and my pursuits of adventure, art and piece have progressed far and wide. More than any other arts I cherish performance - music, dance, theater - and the raw material of it all - poetry. Having a solid brain for math, science and engineering, I make my living in computers and information technology. My artistic interests are nourished by numerous contacts and collaborations within Seattle and with people around the world.
